Getting the Most Out of Your Invisalign Treatment
Invisalign is increasingly popular with all age groups, and for good reason! Invisalign can correct your teeth alignment, give you that perfect smile, and boost your confidence without the need of traditional wire braces. Wire braces can be unsightly and hard to maintain, but that doesn’t mean that Invisalign treatments are a walk in the park. There are still things you can do to get the most out of your treatment. Hopefully, we can help you with that.
- Floss every day: Sure, maybe you are already flossing every day, but there is no replacement for good flossing. It’s more important than ever when you have Invisalign. With your aligners in place, they can hold any gunk that you missed up against your teeth without your saliva being able to do its job. Make sure you floss every chance you get!
- Stick to the 48-hour instruction: This means that the first two days of each tray, you should be wearing your aligners as much as possible. You may be instructed to wear them every minute of the day that you aren’t chewing or brushing your teeth. It’s always important to wear your aligners as much as possible, but especially in the first two days.
- Commit to wearing them at least 22 hours every day: Like we said earlier, wearing them as much as possible is very important, but in case you are feeling lazy and “as much as possible” doesn’t mean much to you, here is a rule of thumb: wear them for at least 22 hours a day.
- Change your aligners on time and in the right order: Follow instructions given to you by the orthodontist to the letter. You should change your trays in order, and change them as fast as possible when you are told to do so. You won’t be doing yourself any favors by changing trays when you aren’t supposed to.
