The All On 4 Dental Implant Procedure
Prior to the innovation of All-on-4 dental implants, if you wanted a dental implant you underwent almost a year of treatment when Brechon Dental would extract the teeth, allow for sufficient healing and denture wearing, bone grafting if needed and more healing, place the dental implants, more healing time with more denture wearing and then finally placing the false tooth on the healed implant. Now, with the new All-on-4 dental implant procedure, the entire process, from extraction to implant placement to fixed teeth, is achievable in just one visit.
In the past, if you wanted to replace a denture with a full arch, then six to ten dental implants were necessary to properly support all the teeth and offer enough strength. Now, using the laws of physics and stronger materials to our advantage, when the end implants are placed at angles, their strength is increased, and fewer implants are then required. The two anterior implants stand upright and the two posterior implants are placed at 45-degree angles. The special placement of these implants allows the All-on-4 to be placed in your mouth that may otherwise have required a bone graft due to jawbone atrophy. Four to six implants can save you thousands of dollars.
The dense jawbone that remains in the front part of your jaw offers an ideal place for the implants and the new approach of placing the other two implants at an angle helps avoid your sinus cavities and the nerve canal. Upon conclusion, you now have new teeth that do not need to be removed, like dentures. We surgically place the four titanium implants in your jaw.
